STRESS. Everyone experiences it. You may have a day packed with stressful situations, or a relatively calm life with big moments of stress. Whatever your daily life is like, you need a way to work through challenging moments. Many times simply being stressed can add more stress. Well, I'm here to teach you how to use that stress to empower you in just a few simple steps.
1. When you are stressed, your emotions are ruling you. The key is to remain calm. Take a deep breath and say to yourself: "I will let no one and nothing control my thoughts."
2. Situations arise as a lesson. Even if this is a highly stressful situation, remember: there is something you are supposed to learn here. Maybe it won't become clear until later. Say to yourself: "Everything is here to help me, including this situation."
3. Feed the "right" wolf. Okay, I'm stretching this parable a bit, but the overarching lesson is the same. If you "feed" your stress by focusing on it, it will continue to grow. Steer your thoughts away from this and into something more positive, like gratitude. Every time you feel the stress wolf taking over, say to yourself: "I am grateful for (fill in the blank)."
That's it! Three quick tips to help you work through stressful situations and feel empowered instead of defeated.
